About Hopkins County

Hopkins County is located just an hour and a half east of Dallas, with easy access to I-30. As of the 2010 census, its population was 35,161. Its county seat is Sulphur Springs. Hopkins County is named for the family of David Hopkins, an early settler in the area.

Education

The Sulphur Springs ISD has been recognized by the state for academic excellence every year since 1999. There are a variety of community colleges and universities in the area.
